Tell us your story! My husbands name is Michael, and he is amazing! We met through mutual friends when I went up to visit some friends at Clemson my senior year of high school, he was one of my good friends roommates. We instantly connected and he become one of my closest friends from then on.  We hung out all the time since we had all the same friends, he tried convincing me we should date not long after I started college, but I didn’t want to rush anything and ruin our friendship. Finally at the end of my freshman year we started dating (May 8, 2011). We dated throughout the rest of our time at Clemson. He moved to Columbus, GA when he graduated, so we had a long distance relationship my last 2 years of college. We got engaged Oct. 4, 2014 in Jamaica. I had no idea it was coming, we were having a private dinner on the beach and we were told our table wasn’t ready yet (little did I know Michael had them tell us that so we could walk down the beach!) Michael suggested we walk along the beach until then and one guy stopped us (who apparently didn’t know the plan!) and said, “are y’all supposed to be down here?” but Michael kept insisting we keep going. I finally went along with it and a little ways down the beach he had written Will You Marry Me in flower petals with candles all around it. It was PERFECT! And the rest is history.

When did you and your beau tie the knot? May 16, 2015

Where was the lovely venue? Cypress Trees Plantation, Edisto Island, SC

Tell us about finding your gown! Was it love at first sight? Finding my wedding dress was definitely the easiest part of the whole thing! It only took maybe 30 mins! I came to BleuBelle looking for a specific dress, the Lazaro “pink flower” gown. I had been dreaming about this gown forever! I was so excited to finally go try it on, but I was also very nervous because I had heard over and over people say you think you love this one dress in a picture then you hate it when you try it on. I was very worried that was going to be the case, but it wasn’t! It was the first dress I tried on and I LOVED it! I tried on a few more just to be sure, but ultimately nothing compared to that one. It was absolutely breathtaking!

What is the one thing you would tell other brides, when it comes to finding the right dress? The one thing I would tell other brides about finding their perfect dress is don’t let anyone try and make this decision for you. It’s your day and you should have the dress that you want. Who cares if they don’t like it, the only thing that matter is that you love it. Your wedding day is about you and you need the dress that you love and that makes you feel beautiful!

Hello beautiful! We feel in love with Brittany from the moment she walked in the door. Her sweet demeanor and gracious kindness were the perfect compliment to her stunning Alyne gown! Big hugs for Ashlee who photographed the day perfectly!

Though we had both grown up in Georgia and attended UGA, our paths didn’t cross until we were halfway across the globe! We became fast friends overseas and continued that friendship throughout our senior year at UGA. Separate plans took us both to Denver, Colorado, where we discovered that we lived less than one mile from each other. Our friendship grew stronger as his house full of Georgia guys and my houseful of North Carolina girls explored all the best parts of life out west together! A job opportunity took Andrew back South, and it was then that we realized we might have something more than friendship! We began a long distance relationship and continued it from Colorado to North Carolina where I began law school at Duke. We continued to explore the world together, traveling everywhere from Cuba to Japan. It was on a return trip out to Colorado for a long weekend that Andrew popped the question! I happily said yes, and the wedding planning began!
When did you and your beau tie the knot? March 14, 2015
Where was the lovely venue? We were married at the Perry United Methodist Church in Perry, Georgia, and had our lovely reception at Southern Bridle Farms in Fort Valley, Georgia.
Tell us about finding your gown. I knew from the moment I got engaged that I wanted to get my gown from BleuBelle! My sister had a wonderful experience shopping with y’all for her gown in 2010, and it made such an impression on me! I had only a vague idea about what I wanted, or really, about what I didn’t want, but was otherwise open to suggestions. Courtney was as amazing with me as she had been with my sister! Between Courtney, my sister, and my mama, I was in great hands!
Was it love at first sight? It was absolutely love at first sight – it was the first dress I tried on! I think I knew it the moment I put it on, but always the cautious one, I continued trying on about six or so more gowns. I just kept comparing every other gown to that first one. Once Courtney put on the sparkly belt and the gorgeous veil, I knew that was it!
What is the one thing you would tell other brides, when it comes to finding the dress? I would just say to be open to different styles, don’t feel too much pressure, and enjoy the experience of wedding dress shopping! I picked the gown that made me feel beautiful, and that made my wedding day even more wonderful!
